Supper Club, Arepas from Venezuela

About
Let’s connect and make Venezuelan arepas together.
Gleana is from Venezuela and hosted this evening. She left home more than ten years ago, and food has always been one of the things that keeps her connected to where she comes from.
What we cooked
Arepas are a traditional dish in Venezuela, made with corn flour, water and salt. They are cooked until golden on the outside and then filled with whatever you are in the mood for.
We made them together and filled them with black beans, cheese, guacamole, mushrooms and fresh salad. Everyone made their own and picked the combination they like. A sweet ending: besitos de coco, little coconut kisses made with shredded coconut, eggs, sugar and vanilla.

How we began
Before cooking we took a moment to arrive: a sensory grounding exercise and a playful intuition practice, to connect with ourselves and each other.
Gleana has a background in psychology and yoga. She is interested in how mind, body, senses, food and connection come together.
